Function of the unit

  • Develop long-term/short-term strategic plans to guide the overall direction of health services and programmes.
  • Conduct assessments periodically to identify health needs with in the health institutes and the community to determine priorities for intervention.
  • Allocate resources effectively and determine the distribution facilities based on identified needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of health related development programs and services to ensure they meet desired standards and goals.
  • Analyze health data with in the district and identify trends and areas for improvement with national standards.
  • Contribute to the development of health guidelines,policies that align with national and local health priorities with health and non-health sectors.
  • Advocate for resources and policies that support the health needs of the community to utilize the health services in optimal manner.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of health data on to relevant authorities and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other health and non-health departments,agencies and stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to health planning and service delivery.
  • Coordinate and facilitate personal and management skill development training programmes organized at the national level for healthcare workers.
