Preventive Care

Preventive care services will be provided through well planned health educational and health promotional programmes targeting specific groups (high risk groups) such as pregnant mothers, preschool children & teachers, school children, young adolescents, betel chewers, estate population, people who are suffering from main NCDs (through HLCs) etc.

Further to this, Oral health unit of RDHS office is conducting preventive care interventions like sealing of first molars (Save molar programme), holistic approach care initiative for pregnant mothers (Pregnant mother programme), dietary counseling measures for preschool children.

These institutions are providing basic routine oral health care services such as pain alleviation procedures, extractions & restorations as well as advanced procedures such as endodontic treatments, minor oral surgical procedures, and treatments involving dental pulp.

An OMF clinic addresses all advanced Orofacial issues such as craniofacial fractures, orthognathic surgeries, and management of all types of malignancies in the head & neck region. The newly opened orthodontic unit will take care of the management of all types of malocclusions that are to be treated incrementally. (Health promotional preschool programme), screening high-risk individuals for OPMD & oral cancer (mobile screening programmes), change of behaviors for positive health outcomes for toddlers (Behaviour change communication programme), interventions to prevent initial caries progressing to advanced stages (Fluoride varnish application programme), etc.
